HIGH SCHOOL:

  • Varsity letterwinner in cross country, swimming and lacrosse at Seton La-Salle Catholic High School.
  • Served as a senior captain for both swimming and cross country. 
  • Academic All-America selection for lacrosse as a junior and senior. 
  • Top 30 cross country finisher as a senior at the WPIAL Championship meet, and placed 12th at the Catholic Schools Championship Invitational. 
  • WPIAL Scholar Athlete award recipient in 2014. 
  • WPIAL Championship qualifier in the 50 freestyle relay for swimming, and finished in 15th place at the Catholic Schools Championship Invitational in cross country as a junior. 
  • Member of undefeated WPIAL sectional champion swim team during sophomore campaign. 
  • Lacrosse team posted an undefeated sectional championship season during freshman year. 
  • Earned team’s Outstanding Performance Award in swimming as a freshman.
  • Competed in club track and field for three years. 
  • Member of the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society.
  • Served as president of senior class at Seton La-Salle. 
  • Belonged to the American Women’s Medical Association and Compassionate Care in Medicine clubs. 
  • President of Respect-Life Club, and volunteer at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. 

PERSONAL:

  • Daughter of Michael (’89) and Theresa (’89) Farnan. 
  • Has four brothers, Michael, Joe, James and Paul. 
  • Has five sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Sarah, Kathleen and Anne.
  • Mother, Theresa (Rice), competed in varsity track and field and cross country at Notre Dame, and was a 1989 CoSIDA Academic All-America® first team selection in cross country. 
  • Enrolled in the College of Science with a major in philosophy and preprofessional studies.
