AS A SOPHOMORE: Reset both of her personal-best times in her specialty, the breaststroke, at the BIG EAST Championships … swam to a sixth-place finish in the 100 breast at the league meet with a time of 1:03.48 and was tied for ninth place in the 200 breast with a finals swim of 2:17.38 … her final session swim in the 200 breast and her preliminary swim of the 100 breast (1:03.39) were both personal-best times … an additional personal-best time also came in the preliminary session of the 200 IM at the league meet with a time of 2:08.39 … touched the pad in a time of 1:01.58 in the 100 fly and 2:18.82 in the 200 fly in the preliminary session of the Hoosierland Invitational … the 100 fly performance was a season-best time while her 200 fly time was a personal best … swam 14 breaststroke events for the Irish over the course of the season.

AS A FRESHMAN: Capped off the year by going a season-best 1:03.90 in the 100 breast, which was just under eight seconds better than her performance three weeks earlier at the Shamrock Invitational … the mark made her Notre Dame[apos]s second-fastest performer in the event … clocked in at 2:20.35 in the 200 breast at the league meet to give her the nod as the team[apos]s third-best performer in the event on the season … swam the 100 fly (1:00.75) at the Ohio State Invitational and finished the 200 IM in 2:09.31 at the BIG EAST meet … swam the 200 breast at World Championship Trials.

THE BLYTHE FILE: Swam in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials, clocking a time of 2:37.71 in the 200m breast … four-time All-American in the 100 breast … earned an All-America nod in the 200 medley relay as a freshman … garnered the same status in the 200 IM as a junior and senior … swam for Colleyville Heritage (Texas) as a prep, setting the school record in the 100 breast (1:02.33) … her high school team boasted an undefeated record her junior season … four-time conference champion, three-time regional champion and four-time team MVP … earned all-conference, all-city and all-state recognition in each of her four prep seasons … picked up one state title in the 100 breast as a junior … born in Grapevine, Texas, on July 25, 1990 … daughter of Gwen and Richard Blythe … has one younger sister, Rachel … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business as an accounting major.
