Bio

Derrick Mayes began a five-year term on the Monogram Club board in 2018. Mayes earned four Monograms as a standout wide receiver with the Notre Dame football team. As a senior, he served as a team captain and earned All-America honors. The Indianapolis native graduated from Notre Dame in 1996 with a degree in communication and theatre. 

Mayes was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft. He played three seasons with the Packers, including  their Super Bowl-winning campaign during his rookie year. He went on to play two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before retiring from the NFL in 2001. 

Mayes currently lives in Los Angeles and is Vice President of WME/IMG and the Co-Founder of 5.0 Communications. Over the last 10 years, Mayes has served as executive and strategic advisor to some of the most-high profile individuals, groups, and organizations in the sports and entertainment industry. He and his wife, Gayle, have a son, Hudson. Mayes and his wife are founding parents of City Language Immersion Charter School in Los Angeles. He serves on the board of directors for the Hotz’s Heroes Foundation. Mayes was the featured alumni speaker at the spring 2018 Monogram Jacket Ceremony.
