AS A SENIOR: Competed in three tournaments during the first semester … shot an 11-over par 153 to place 19th at the Notre Dame Kickoff Challenge (Aug. 30).

AS A JUNIOR: Played in a total of seven tournaments as a junior, notching six starts in the Notre Dame lineup … 75.58 stroke average over 19 total rounds played, including three as an unattached competitor … posted a pair of top five results during the season, tying for the Notre Dame team lead … fired a second round 66 to claim solo fourth place at one-under-par 141 (75-66) during the season opening Notre Dame Kickoff Challenge (Aug. 30) at the Warren Golf Course … one of two players in the field to finish under par at the Fighting Irish Golf Classic (Sept. 28-30) at the Warren Golf Course and Lost Dunes Golf Club, posting a three-day score of 211 (67-71-73, -2) for solo runner-up honors … recorded top finish of the spring at the ACC Championship (April 24-26), sharing 46th place at 228 (75-75-78).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Played in 27 tournament rounds for Notre Dame during sophomore campaign, earning eight nods in the Irish starting lineup … posted a 75.93 stroke average … closed with a final round 72 to tie for 30th place at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (Sept. 23-24) at the Warren Golf Course (76-74-72-222) … set the course record at the Members Club at Four Streams with a final round of five under par 66 at the Georgetown Intercollegiate (Oct. 21-22), earning a share of 23rd place (79-78-66-223) … placed in a tie for 39th place at the Talis Park Challenge (March 16-17) in first spring start (76-75-82-233) … one of four Irish players to finish in the top 20 at the Notre Dame Oak Hill Intercollegiate (April 21-22), tying for 15th place at 227 (78-76-73).

AS A FRESHMAN: Finished in solo third place in Notre Dame’s final BIG EAST Championship appearance (April 28-30) with a five-under par score of 211 … recorded dual even-par scores of 72 during the first two rounds before ending strong with a five-under par 67 mark on the third and final day of play … was named to the all-BIG EAST team in only season competing in the conference … one of two Irish players named to the all-conference team, joining Niall Platt … appeared in six tournaments with the Irish, including one as an individual entrant … ended the season with a stroke average of 74.00 … finished the spring portion of the year with a 73.53 stroke average … concluded the season with three under-par rounds, along with three even-par performances … 11 out of 13 rounds counted toward the team score (.846) … posted three top-25 finishes on the season … concluded two tournaments in the top five and two within the top 10 … started the fall season at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic (Oct. 7-9) … after posting a second round score of even-par 71, went on to finish tied for 46th place at 228 (+15) … began the spring season playing in the Schenkel Invitational (March 15-17) as an individual … led the Irish at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate (March 25), tying for first place with a score of 67 (-3) … shot a two-over par 73 during second round at the Irish Creek Collegiate (April 6-7) … ended the Hawkeye – Great River Entertainment Invitational (April 13-14) with a score of 223 (+7), good for a share of 21st place.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Competed in both varsity golf and junior varsity soccer while attending Christ School in Arden, N.C., in addition to playing as a member of Little Greenies basketball team … earned four varsity letters during high school golf career and one junior varsity letter during freshman year for soccer … helped team to undefeated and state championship season during sophomore year … won individual conference championship during both freshman and junior seasons … named team MVP and all-region selection in both sophomore and junior years in addition to being an all-conference selection freshman through junior years … four-time selection to the TYGA all-state team … finished second at the Buncombe Co. Invitational in which all public, private and Christian high schools in the county participate, during his freshman season … won first at same tournament sophomore season and runner-up again junior year … named conference Player of the Year after winning the conference championship freshman year and accomplished the same feat during junior season … posted the lowest stroke average on the team during junior season … made birdie putt on second playoff hole to clinch the 3A state championship for team, the first-ever state championship for Christ School … has made four career holes in one … won the Jane Marville Jr. Championship, Buncombe Co. Junior Skyview and Tom Fazio Jr. Masters each of past three years participated in … during spring-summer of ’11, shot 29 (-6) on rain-shortened qualifier to secure only spot to participate in the FootJoy Invitational … made the cut at the event, finishing in the top third of the field … ranked 6th in ’12 class by TYGA (North Carolina rankings), 80th by Golfweek and 83rd by NJGS … member of the National Honor Society and Wetmore Society … son of David and Mary Sciupider … has four siblings: Baxter, Brandon, Kayla and Kendall … father played baseball for Erie Community College … born in Asheville, N.C. … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business, majoring in marketing.
