AS A SENIOR: Had exemplary season as one of two captains … set new program record in 800 free relay at ACC Championships (6:21.74), good for third place and earned a trip to the NCAA Championships … swam 50, 100 and 200 free, 100 and 200 breast, 100 fly and 200 and 400 IM … was lead member of 200 free relay at NCAA Championships that finished 26th (1:20.93) … earned a pair of second-place finishes in 50 free at back-to-back home meets … in 100 free always placed in top 10 … was first against Wisconsin (45.81) and Cleveland State (46.00) and third (46.15) in tri-meet with Northwestern and Michigan … led the 400 free relay team to third-place finish at Dennis Stark Relays (46.40 split, 3:06.85) … clocked in at 46.71 in 100 free against Purdue … member of 800 free relay that finished 19th at NCAA Championships (6:26.18) … finished third in 200 free against Air Force (1:43.12) … was fifth in 100 breast at ACC Championship meet (53.43), setting new personal best … came in third at Hawkeye Invite in 100 breast (53.65) … repeated third-place finish against Louisville in same event (55.36) … was first against Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech (55.76) … clocked in at 2:10.00, good for 24th at ACC Championships in 200 breast … was second against Air Force in 200 breast (2:09.74) … swam 100 fly in 51.07 at Shamrock Invite … came in seventh in 200 IM (1:45.68) at ACC Championships with a new personal best … was first in 200 IM at Hawkeye Invitational (1:46.48) … was first in 400 IM against Cleveland State (4:05.99) … named College Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA) Honorable Mention Scholar-All-American … monogram winner.

AS A JUNIOR: Was one of four team captains that helped lead Notre Dame to its sixth and final BIG EAST Championship … competed primarily in the 200 and 400 IM … recorded a season-best fifth-place finish in the 400 IM (3:52.87) at the BIG EAST Championships – time was the fifth-best in program history … also placed third in the 200 IM (1:46.40) which was good for a career-best, and was the third fastest Notre Dame time … swam to a first-place finish in the 100 breast (56.11) vs. Cleveland State … took first in the 100 breast (55.71) and the 200 breast (2:04.25) vs. Pittsburgh … at the Shamrock Invitational, collected four top-five finishes, touching the wall in the 400 medley relay in 3:25.61, the 200 breast in 2:03.75, the 200 fly in 1:52.09, and the 200 IM in 1:52.19 … Charles Blanchard Award recipient for the second straight season … BIG EAST Academic All-Star … monogram winner.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Breaststroke and individual medley specialist who garnered All-BIG EAST honors in his second collegiate year … posted career-best times while earning fifth-place points at the BIG EAST Championships in both the 100 breast (54.53) and the 200 IM (1:47.77), recording NCAA B-cuts in each event … moved up to third-place all-time for the Irish in 200 IM history … touched seventh in the 400 IM (3:53.17) to earn another lifetime best at the same meet … nearly cleared the two-minute barrier in a time-trial swim in the 200 breast (2:00.90), his best career swim by nearly three seconds … assisted the 800 freestyle relay (6:24.11) to a silver finish and All-BIG EAST honors … placed in the top eight in two events at the Hawkeye Invitational, touching in at fifth in the 100 breast (56.19) and eighth in the 200 IM (1:49.88) … took second place honors in the 100 breast (56.92) in dual meet action against Michigan State … garnered silver in the 200 breast (2:04.87) against league foe Pittsburgh … represented the Irish at the 2012 US Olympic Trials, swimming the 100 meter breast (1:03.86, 58th), 200 meter breast (2:22.91, 110th), and the 200 meter IM (2:05.08, 44th) … recipient of both the Patrick Reilly McManus Captain[apos]s Award and the Charles Blanchard Award … earned a monogram.

AS A FRESHMAN: Collected two top-eight finishes at the BIG EAST Championships in his first season … those two performances included swims of 1:50.14 in the 200 IM and 3:55.45 in the 400 IM … set personal-best times of 1:49.23 and 3:55.01 in the same two events, respectively, during the preliminary sessions of the league meet … the 1:49.23 was an NCAA B-cut time – the 200 IM performance was the fifth-fastest 200 IM in school history … swam the second fastest 200 IM in program history, behind teammate Bill Bass … set two additional career-best times at the Shamrock Invitational with swims of 15:59.59 and 56.91 in the 1,650 free and 100 breast, respectively … the 1,650 performance was the fastest time set by an Irish swimmer during the 2010-11 season … additional personal-best performances included showings of 4:42.94 in the 500 free against Pittsburgh, 9:2.39 in the 1,000 free against Michigan State, 2:07.50 in the 200 breast at the Hawkeye Invitational and 1:52.87 against Cleveland State.
