AS A FRESHMAN: Only competed at DeCicco Duals, earning 11-2 record … beat Wayne State’s Meghan Flynn 5-2 … blanked Detroit’s McKenna Brohl 5-0 … beat Sam Getting 5-1 and Jenna Mennen 5-2 of Wisconsin … won 5-0 versus Michigan State’s Laura Cheaney but lost 5-4 to Jinny Jung and 5-2 to Carolyn Grant of Michigan.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Immigrated from Paraguay during high school and picked up fencing as a hobby … fell so in love with the sport that she began to practice 12-plus hours a week to hone her craft … attended Saint Anne’s School of Asuncion in Asuncion, Paraguay, before coming to the United States and attending the Sagemont School … played handball and danced in Paraguay … on club dance team, placed first in competition at Corrientes, Argentina, two years in a row … won first at a national dance championship in Encarnacion, Paraguay … in fencing, placed first at national foil event … competed in a Cuba Valentine’s Day Special and participated in the Plovdiv World Foil Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria … was involved with the Spanish Honors Society off the strip … youngest child of José and Rosana Pereira … has one sister, Verónica … graduated from the Sagemont School in June of 2014 … enrolled in First Year of Studies with the intent to double-major in management and business administration.
