AS A SENIOR: Earned first monogram … competed in five tournaments (12 rounds) for the Irish … played in two tournaments as an individual … notched a 74.83 stroke average … tied for 17th at the Gopher Invitational with a four-over par 220 (75-74-71), his best finish of the season … final round of 71 at the Gopher Invitational marked his fifth under par round with the Irish and the first since his sophomore campaign … recorded a pair of 74s, his lowest two-day total of the season, at the FAU Spring Break Championship … went on to finish in a tie for 57th at the FAU Spring Break Championship.

AS A JUNIOR: Played in six tournaments, with four starts on the Irish travel team … posted 76.61 stroke average for 18 rounds, with nine of 12 competitive rounds applying to team total … opened season with tie for 63rd place at USF Olympic Club Intercollegiate following 18-over par 231 (75-79-77) … competed as individual at Saint Mary[apos]s (Calif.) Invitational and turned in best performance of year with 30th-place tie at career-low six-over par 219 (75-72-72) … member of ‘B’ team at Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic, tying for 57th place at 20-over par 230 (82-72-76) … returned to starting lineup for The Prestige at PGA West and shared 71st place at 18-over par 234 (79-79-76) … made first start of spring at FAU Spring Break Championship, claiming tie for 56th place at 13-over par 226 (75-75-76) … wrapped season with 60th-place deadlock at Robert Kepler Intercollegiate following 26-over par 239 (81-80-78).

SUMMER 2008: Became first Notre Dame golfer in 35 years to advance to match play at U.S. Amateur after tying for 47th place during stroke play at four-over par 144 (73-71) on famed Pinehurst No. 2 & 4 courses in Pinehurst, N.C. … fell to Jeff Edelman, 5 & 3 in first round of U.S. Amateur match play … qualified for U.S. Amateur by sharing medalist honors at Notre Dame/Warren Golf Course qualifier with four-under par 136 (67-69); opening-round 67 was career-low mark in competition at the Warren … tied for 15th (three shots out of playoff) at one-over par 73 in 99-man U.S. Open local qualifier in Orlando (MetroWest GC) … won Tournament Players Association (TPA) at Windstar in Naples (Windstar GC) by one stroke with four-over 149 (76-72) … Tied for 11th (and second-lowest amateur) at E-Z-Go South Florida PGA Open in Naples (Fiddler[apos]s Creek GC) with two-under 214 (70-75-69) … Shot two-under 70 to tie for third during qualifying round for Florida State Amateur in Miami Lakes (Don Shula[apos]s GC) … tied for 47th at Florida State Amateur in Tequesta (Jupiter Hills GC) with 23-over 305 (75-76-75-79) … tied for 29th place (with classmate Olavo Batista among others) at Spirit of America Classic in Decatur, Ala. AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in seven tournaments, including four as part of Notre Dame[apos]s starting lineup … ranked fourth on team with career-low 74.90 stroke average for 20 rounds … got season started with 18th-place tie at Rutgers Invitational (‘B’ team event), where he shot nine-over par 222 (72-79-71) … joined starting lineup for first time at Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic, finishing 68th at 30-over par 240 (81-79-80) … played as an individual competitor in spring opener at John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, winding up tied for 38th place at 10-over par 226 (76-76-74) … matched career-best finish with 10th-place tie at Charleston Southern Spring Kickoff (‘B’ team event) after shooting career-low eight-over par 221 (73-72-76) … earned way back into starting lineup for Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational, where he tied for 44th place at six-over par 222 (76-73-73) … shared 48th place at National Invitational Tournament after shooting eight-over par 224 (76-74-74) … wrapped up season by tying career-best placement, finishing in 10th-place tie at Irish Invitational with three-over par 143 (68-75); opening-round 68 also was a career-low.

AS A FRESHMAN: Saw action in four tournaments (11 rounds), all during the fall, playing once with Irish travel squad … posted 75.45 stroke average that wound up being fourth-best on team … made college debut at John Dallio Memorial (‘B’ team event), tying for 21st place with six-over par 222 (79-71-72); also aced par-3 third hole (175 yards) in final round with 7-iron … one of two Irish freshmen (with Doug Fortner) to fire an ace in `06-07, sinking their holes-in-one in consecutive tournaments in September; feat earned pair a place in Oct. 30 issue of Sports Illustrated[apos]s ‘Faces in the Crowd’ while back-to-back aces by rookies in debut events believed to be first of its kind in NCAA Division I history … played as individual competitor at inaugural Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic, finishing in 11th-place tie at 12-over par 222 (72-76-74); sank ace for second time in as many events, holing tee shot on par-3 fourth hole (136 yards) during final round with 8-iron … returned to course at The Tillinghast (‘B’ team event) and rang up best finish of rookie season with 10th-place tie at nine-over par 150 (70-80); opening-round score also was season best … made debut with Irish travel squad in fall finale at Aloha Purdue Collegiate Invitational, finishing in 45th place (76-82-78=236, +26).

PREP AND PERSONAL: Successful junior golfer that rose as high as 58th in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) rankings in 2006 … earned 13 career Top 25 finishes on the AJGA Tour, including third-place showing at `05 AJGA Greater Hartford Jaycees Junior … carded 74.43 stroke average during `06 season … also logged victories at `05 Optimist International Tournament of Champions (firing a final-round 69 to win by a stroke), `02 Optimist International Junior Championship (closing with third-round 67) and `02 Florida State Boys Junior Championship (age 13-15 division) … tied for sixth place at `06 AJGA First American Title Junior Classic; was chosen to receive prestigious AJGA Bob Carter Sportsmanship Award for his play … four-time all-county selection at the Community School of Naples (Fla.) … team captain in each of his four prep seasons, earning a district championship in 2004, after moving to Naples prior to starting high school … National Honor Society member … cousin, Justine Gamez, is a 2008 Notre Dame graduate … full name is Carl P.
