AS A JUNIOR (2022)

  • Started all 10 games he appeared in in his first season at Notre Dame. Ended the season with 30 total tackles, recording 15 solo. One of five players to record an interception for the Irish defense. Added a pass breakup, a quarterback hurry and a forced fumble throughout the season.
  • OHIO STATE (9/3): Made his Irish debut at safety. Finished with four tackles
  • MARSHALL (9/10): Recorded eight tackles against the Thundering Herd. Stopped the Herd on fourth down with 5:07 on the clock in the first quarter. Combined with JD Bertrand on a third down to force another Marshall punt. Fair caught four punts. Returned one punt for a season-best 15 yards
  • CALIFORNIA (9/17): Finished with three tackles. Game-winning PBU on Cal’s Hail Mary attempt as time expired
  • NORTH CAROLINA (9/24): Finished with a quarterback hurry
  • BYU (10/8): Added six tackles, four solo. Forced his first fumble of the season.
  • STANFORD (10/15): Added four total tackles, three solo.
  • SYRACUSE (10/29): Picked off the first pass of the game and returned it for a touchdown, the 10th interception of his career, first career touchdown. Finished with two tackles, both solo.
  • USC (11/26): Finished with three tackles against the Trojans, two solo.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2021) – Northwestern

  • Voted Team Captain
  • MICHIGAN STATE (9/3): Tallied eight tackles in the season-opener against Michigan State
  • INDIANA STATE (9/11): Became the first Wildcat since Venric Mark in 2012 to tally 100+ punt return yards in a game when he registered 111 return yards against Indiana State
  • DUKE (9/18): Recovered a fumble and made nine tackles against Duke
  • OHIO (9/25): Snatched his first interception of the season against Ohio
  • NEBRASKA (10/2): Tied a career-high with 10 tackles against Nebraska
  • RUTGERS (10/16): Broke up a career-high two passes against Rutgers
  • MICHIGAN (10/23): Registered his first-career sack, along with a career-high 12 tackles against Michigan

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN SEASON (2020) – Northwestern

  • Finished as team-leader in interceptions with six
  • MARYLAND (10/24): Made a team-high seven total tackles, five of which were solo, in his first career start against Maryland
  • IOWA (10/31): Snatched two interceptions (first and second of his career) in the comeback victory over Iowa
  • NEBRASKA (11/7): Recorded his third interception of the season against Nebraska. He became first Big Ten player to record at least three interceptions in the first three games of a season since Ohio State’s Malik Hooker and Marshon Lattimore both did so in 2016. He was one of four FBS first-year players to snatch three interceptions through the first three games of the season in the last 10 years
  • PURDUE (11/14): Recorded four total tackles at Purdue
  • WISCONSIN (11/21): Snatched two interceptions in a single game for the second time this season vs. Wisconsin, his second honor this season. He was the first Northwestern rookie to have five interceptions in a season since Bryan Heinz did so in 2003
  • MICHIGAN STATE (11/28): Recorded career-highs in total tackles (10), assisted tackles (8) and pass breakups (1) against Michigan State
  • ILLINOIS (12/12): Compiled six total tackles vs. Illinois
  • OHIO STATE – Big Ten Championship (12/19): Snatched sixth interception of the season in Big Ten Championship vs. Ohio State, while also registering five total tackles against the Buckeyes
  • AUBURN – Citrus Bowl (1/1): Recorded three tackles in Citrus Bowl vs. Auburn

FRESHMAN SEASON (2019) – Northwestern

  • Appeared in four games, finishing with four tackles
  • OHIO STATE (10/18): Recorded his first collegiate tackle

PREP AND PERSONAL

  • Rated a three-star prospect and 127th-ranked player in Texas by 247sports
  • Posted 95 tackles, 10 pass breakups, five interceptions, five tackles for loss, two forced fumbles as a senior
  • Scored touchdowns on a kick return, punt return and fumble recovery
  • Earned All-State honors in 2018
  • Helped lead College Station High School to the Texas 5A State Championship
