AS A FRESHMAN (2015-16): Added roster depth in sprint freestyle events in first year with the team … began the season at Dennis Stark Relays, taking fourth with 400 free relay (47.60 leadoff split) and exhibitioning in 200 free relay (21.02 split) … versus Michigan State, earned two fourth-place finishes in the 100 free (47.74) and 200 free relay (21.16 split), finishing sixth in 50 free (21.80) … at Purdue Invitational, advanced to the finals in 50 free, 100 free and 200 free … in 50 free, finished 29th overall (21.75 finals, 21.76 prelims) … took 26th in 200 free (1:42.39 finals, 1:45.05 prelims) and 25th in 100 free (46.93 finals, 48.14 prelims) and helped 400 free relay to 13th (47.16 split) … at Virginia, swam to fourth place with 200 free relay (20.86 split) and fifth with 400 free relay (46.77 split) … individually clocked in at 21.84 in 50 free and 47.47 in 100 free … against Northwestern swam 50 free (21.59) and led fourth-place 400 free relay (47.65 leadoff split) … in Shamrock Invitational meet, earned two sixth-place finishes with the 200 free relay (20.88) and 400 free relay (47.25 split) … individually clocked in at 21.72 in 50 free, 1:44.59 in 200 free and 46.99 in 100 free … finished the year at Michigan First Chance met, taking sixth in 50 free (20.88) and seventh in 100 free (46.03), time-trialing to the tune of 1:41.05 in 200 free.

PREP & PERSONAL: A freestyler walk on from Chicago, Illinois … eight time varsity letterwinner at Saint Ignatius College Prep, earned four letters each in men’s water polo and swimming … swam with both prep team and Chicago Wolfpack Aquatic Club team throughout high school career … earned Scholastic All American honors three times and holds 11 team records … member of the national honor society … was an AP Scholar and a member of the IHSA all state academic team … as a sophomore, broke three team records in swimming and helped team become sectional champions … qualified for state title meet on four occasions … named team MVP … in water polo, helped team win sectional championship, named to first team all sectional … came in fourth place at state championship and was awarded second team all-state honors … as a junior was two-time state sectional champion and four-time state qualifier … placed 19th in 50 free and 30th in 100 free … again voted team MVP … in water polo repeated as sectional champions and was awarded first team all-sectional honors and first team all-state honors … led team in goals, assists and steals … during senior campaign, twice was sectional champion and qualified for state championship four times … made finals at the state title meet in the 50 free (finishing in 11th place) and came in 13th in 100 free … swam four All-American cut-times and set four team records, earning team MVP award in the process … in water polo, repeated as sectional champions for third straight year … achieved first team all sectional honors … finished fourth at state tournament, awarded first team all-state honors … youngest child of Edward and Holly Barth … father was a running back at Lehigh, and won a Division II national title while mother played golf at Tulsa and went on to play professional golf on the LPGA for 10 years … has two older siblings, brother Kevin and sister Hollis, both of whom attended USC … graduated from Saint Ignatius College Prep in May 2015 … enrolled in the Mendoza College of Business.
