AS A SENIOR: Compete in only one indoor meet … placed 11th in the 400m at the Blue & Gold Invitational … did not compete during the outdoor season.

AS A JUNIOR: Competed in five meets between the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons … took part in two events at the season-opening Blue & Gold Invitational, placing ninth in the 400m and first as part of the 4×400-meter relay with Harvey Smith, Oye Eyeguokan and Chris Giesting … competed in the 400m at the Meyo Invitational … placed 11th in the 400m at the Alex Wilson Invitational … got first taste of outdoor action at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, finishing third in the 400m hurdles (55.96) … also placed third in the 400m hurdles championships at the Gina Relays (54.59).

AS A SOPHOMORE: Competed in two meets during the indoor track & field season … notched a second place finish in the 500m dash (1:06.04) at the Blue 7 Gold Invitational … placed 12th in the 400m dash (51.73) at the Notre Dame Invitational.

AS A FRESHMAN: Competed in seven meets during the indoor and outdoor seasons … raced in the 400m hurdles at the Hillsdale College GINA Relays … placed sixth at the Polytan Invitational in the 400m hurdles with best time of the season (55.21) … competed in the 400m hurdles at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational … ran the 500m and 400m at Meyo Invitational … competed in the 400m at the Notre Dame Invitational and the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open … placed fifth in the 500m at the Blue & Gold Invitational and helped the 4x400m relay team take first with a time of 3:14.50.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Graduated from Blue Springs South High School in the spring of 2012 … earned four varsity letters in track & field and three in football … finished second in state as a junior in the 300m hurdles (37.55) … also won a conference and district title and was named second team all-metro in the event … named all-conference in the long jump and the 4x400m relay … won conference championship in the 4x100m relay … finished in sixth place in the 300m hurdles as a sophomore and was named all-metro honorable mention in the event … was an all-conference wide receiver and corner as a senior on the football field as he helped the team to a class 6A MSHAA state football title … participated in speech and debate, mock trial, Jaguar Ambassadors and National Honor Society … won a conference championship in policy debate in 2011 … conference runner-up in foreign extemporaneous speaking in 2011 … was a state qualifier in policy debate in 2012 … lead prosecutor for mock trial in 2011 and 2012 … born in Kansas City, Missouri, to Michael and Kathryn Harvel … has a younger brother, Jack … enrolled in the College of Arts & Letters in the program of liberal studies.
