AS A SENIOR: Named team captain as a senior at Notre Dame … led the team in scoring average (75.34), rounds in the 70[apos]s (27), top-10[apos]s (4) and wins (1) … carded 29 rounds on season … all-BIG EAST honoree … named BIG EAST Sport Scholar-Athlete Award recipient … qualified for the 2012 U.S. Women[apos]s Open where she shot a (161/+17) to miss the cut … turned pro following her senior year … finished second in first pro tournament -the Health One Colorado Women[apos]s Open (215/-1) … started the season strong with a 34th-place finish (231/+15) among a talented field at the Golfweek Conference Challenge (Sept. 19-21) in Wolcott, Colo. … followed up with a team-leading 224 (+8) at the Tar Heel Invitational at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. (Oct. 7-9) … brought home the only Irish medalist finish of the fall (220/+4) after firing a closing, one-under par, 71 at the Hoosier Fall Invitational at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. PREP & PERSONAL: Named Colorado[apos]s 2008 high school Female Athlete of the Year by the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame (in Jan. of 2009) … a four-year letter winner at Littleton (Colo.) … captured the 2008 Colorado championship by shooting a five-under par 139 (72-67) … her 13-stroke victory is a state record … won the 2006 5A state champion by posting a class record with a six-under par 138 total (68-70) … selected as the 2006 all-Colorado Player of the Year according to the Denver Post … a three-time Denver Post all-Colorado selection and was tabbed as the 2006 Colorado Sportswoman of the Year for golf … The Rocky Mountain News honored her as its all-Colorado player of the year in 2006 … a three-time all-Colorado selection by The Rocky Mountain News … in the spring of 2008, she won the Colorado Public Links Qualifier by three shots after carding a 73 … low amateur, and second overall, at the Colorado Women[apos]s Open in May of 2008 with a 221 (75-71-74) … named to the Colorado Junior Golf Association (CJGA) all-star team for 10-straight seasons … qualified for five USGA Girls[apos] Junior Championships, two USGA Women[apos]s Amateur Public Links Championships and one USGA Women[apos]s Amateur Championship … qualified for match play four times and three times she has earned qualifier medalist honors by shooting 70 and 74 twice … in 2007, she was one of only seven women to qualify for the Girls[apos] Junior, Women[apos]s Amateur Public Links and Women[apos]s Amateur USGA Championships … qualified for eight USGA Championships from 2003-07 in addition to qualifying for the USGA US Women[apos]s Open sectional qualifier on two occasions … a three-time Colorado Women[apos]s Golf Association (CWGA) junior player of the year (2005-07) … one of four girls to receive the 2007 USGA Girls[apos] Junior Championship medal for qualifying five times … in 2003, she became the youngest individual to qualify for the USGA Girls[apos] Junior Championship … captured the CWGA Women[apos]s Match Play Championship and the CWGA Junior Stroke Play Championship in 2005 … named the Denver Post student-athlete of the week on two occasions … Littleton High School academic letterwinner as she was on the school[apos]s highest honor roll (3.8 GPA and above) from 2004-07 … in addition to being a member of the National Honor Society, she was the recipient of the 2007 Masonic Lodge Award for outstanding achievement in the junior class for her character, integrity, leadership and scholarship … daughter of Gary and Mary Singer Huffer … her mother is a 1979 graduate of Notre Dame and was a member of the first Fighting Irish varsity tennis team … has two brothers, Christopher (a 2009 graduate of Notre Dame) and Zach … graduate with a degree in industrial design from Notre Dame in May of 2012.
