Will serve as the back up goalkeeper to senior Erin Goodman … gives the Irish a strong back up in goal … missed the fall schedule but had a strong preseason … will look to compete for more playing time in her third year with the squad … hard-working player who continues to improve all aspects of her game … has a great attitude and has adapted to the speed of the collegiate game … has excellent goalkeeper[apos]s skills and the ability to make the big save … has excellent quickness and good hand-eye coordination to move the ball in transition … one of just two New Jersey natives on the Notre Dame roster along with Gina Scioscia (Summitt) … played for Irish assistant coach Kateri Linville while a member of the Tri-State club team … has seen action in four games during her career, playing 39:35 minutes in relief of Goodman … has a 13.54 goals against average and a .182 save percentage in limited action.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Came off the bench in four games for the Irish, playing 39:35 … gave up nine goals on the year for a 13.54 goals-against average … recorded a pair of saves for a .182 save percentage … played 8:52 minutes of the season opener against Duquesne, giving up one goal while making one save as Irish won 16-4 … saw action versus Connecticut (3/29), playing 10:38 and gave up four goals as Irish won, 18-11 … faced top-ranked Northwestern on April 9, seeing action in the final 9:16 while giving up just one goal … final appearance came on April 20 in 20-9 win against Rutgers … played 11:07, giving up three goals with one save in the game.

AS A FRESHMAN: Did not see any playing time during the 2007 season.

PREP AND PERSONAL: Won letters in three sports at Freehold Township High School … picked up four letters in lacrosse, two in field hockey and one in track … began playing lacrosse in ninth grade after playing field hockey since grade school … was a four-year starter and two-time MVP in lacrosse (2005, 2006) … all-Shore Conference selection as a senior as she helped Freehold Township to its best season ever (10-7) … two-time all-County selection … set Freehold Township records for saves in a game (29) and a season (273) while turning in a 66.0% save percentage … played for the Tri-State All-Star team for three seasons … was selected first team All-Galaxy last season … full name is Amy Farrah Winik … daughter of Alan and Diane Winik … has one brother … born Feb. 7, 1988 in Freehold, N.J. … is a Film, Television and Theatre major at Notre Dame.
