Notre Dame[apos]s best all-around player has been a key contributor since stepping foot on campus … carries a tremendous offensive load for the Irish … one of the team[apos]s best passers … solid server … strong leader on the court … served as co-captain in 2006 and will remain in that role for the 2007 season.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2005): Tabbed honorable mention All-America by the AVCA … filled role as a starting outside hitter after playing some libero early in season … only sophomore named to the AVCA all-Northeast Region team … named to all-BIG EAST second team and was the BIG EAST Championship Most Outstanding Player (12 GP, 35 K, 33 D, 3 SA, 39.5 pts.) … made Notre Dame the first school ever to have multiple players honored as Collegiate Volleyball Update[apos]s National Player of the Week (following Lauren Brewster) by winning the award on Oct. 25 after having outstanding all-around week … averaged 4.30 kills on .396 hitting to go with 3.90 digs and 1.50 blocks for 5.75 points per game in wins against Illinois State, South Florida, and Georgetown … during that week, she posted match-high numbers on nine occasions in six different categories … was the only non-libero among the BIG EAST leaders in digs, finishing eighth in both overall (427/3.85) and conference action (174/3.70) … paired with Meg Henican to make Notre Dame the only team to have two players among the conference digging leaders … that duo combined for 1,055 digs – the most ever by Irish teammates in a season, topping their own mark of 884 in 2004 … became only the fourth Irish player ever to post 400 digs in a season … also one of the team[apos]s top two serve receivers, combining with Henican the last two years to make that an Irish strength … in 2004, the pair held opponents to just 0.96 aces per game, which is the second-best mark in program history … took 31% of serves and made just 28 errors in 828 attempts, a reception percentage of 96.6% … went five straight matches without a reception error (Oct. 5-17) … a staple in an Irish defense that led the BIG EAST in digs in conference action (17.70 per game; AS A FRESHMAN (2004): Immediate contributor started every match at opposite and ranked among top four on team in six statistical categories: first in service aces (41/0.37), second in digs (331/2.96), third in assists (75/0.67), and fourth in kills (279/2.49), points (367/3.28), and blocks (86/0.77) … second in BIG EAST in service aces overall and in conference play (0.44) … tabbed league[apos]s rookie of the week twice in a row, (Oct. 11, 18) … the latter came after a breakout performance in 3-2 win over Illinois State … clinched a triple-double against ISU (first for an Irish player since 1998) in just three games, finishing with 14 kills, 11 digs, and 11 blocks … notched two aces vs. the Redbirds, as well, including one to end marathon second game (34-32) … initial BIG EAST award came after helping Irish to road wins at Rutgers and Seton Hall, averaging 3.43 kills per game on a .302 hitting mark, while contributing 3.29 digs to an Irish defense that held its opponents to an attack percentage of .166 … had 11+ digs on 17 occasions … registered nine double-doubles … became just the second Irish rookie ever to serve up 40 aces in her first collegiate season (also Angie Harris in 1994) … her total was the ninth-highest season mark in Notre Dame history … combined with Meg Henican for 884 digs, the most-ever by Irish teammates in a season (Jessica Fiebelkorn and Christy Peters had 883 in 1992) … key cog in Notre Dame[apos]s serve-receiving unit that surrendered just 0.96 aces per game, the second-best mark in history … committed only 45 reception errors, or one every 2.48 games … served as team[apos]s secondary setter and occasionally as its primary setter for one or two points at a time … a major reason Notre Dame was first in BIG EAST play in opponent hitting pct.
