• 2019 All-ACC, Indoor Weight Throw

AS A SENIOR:

• Took home bronze in the women’s weight throw at the ACC Indoor Championships with a mark of 21.87m
• Set a PR in the weight throw with a mark of 22.23m to take second in the event at the Alex Wilson Invitational. The mark tied her for seventh-best in the NCAA in the 2020 season and earned her a qualification for the NCAA Indoor Championships
• Placed fourth in the weight throw at the Meyo Invitational with a distance of 20.74m
• Won the weight throw at the Notre Dame Invitational with a throw of 20.52m

AS A JUNIOR:

• Qualified for the NCAA East Region Prelims in shot put where she finished 26th overall
• Finished eighth in shot put at the ACC Championships with a throw of 15.27m
• Set a PR in the hammer throw (51.58 meters) at the Jesse Owens Classic
• Runner-up in the shot put with an effort of 15.81 meters at the Louisville Invitational
• Event winner in the shot put (14.84 meters) at the UNF Invitational
• Opened outdoor season with a third-place result in the shot put (14.74 meters) at the Victor Lopez Classic
• Established a PR in the weight throw (20.76 meters) as part of a second-place finish at the ACC Indoor Championships
• Runner-up in the weight throw (20.13 meters) and placed fourth in the shot put (14.51 meters) at the Alex Wilson Invitational
• Finished third in the weight throw (18.83 meters) and fifth in the shot put (14.55 meters) at the Meyo Invitational
• Placed fourth in the shot put (14.99 meters) at the Indiana University Relays
• Claimed second place in the weight throw with an effort of 19.50 meters at the Notre Dame Invitational
• Earned runner-up honors in the shot put (14.30 meters) at the Gene Edmonds Open
• Opened indoor season by sweeping the shot put (15.38 meters) and weight throw (19.91 meters) events at the Blue and Gold Invitational

AS A SOPHOMORE:

• Finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 15.30 meters at the ACC Outdoor Championships
• Placed fourth in the shot put (15.02 meters) at the Michael Johnson Invitational
• Posted a third-place result in the shot put (15.19 meters) and sixth in the hammer throw (45.57 meters) at the Louisville Invitational
• Placed sixth in the hammer throw (48.84 meters) at the Sun Angel Classic
• Checked in sixth in the shot put (14.49 meters) outdoors at the Miami Hurricane Invitational, adding a PR in the discus (35.23 meters)
• Finished sixth in the shot put (14.24 meters) at the Notre Dame Invitational
• Placed third in the shot put (14.14 meters) and fourth in the weight throw (17.80 meters)
• Winner in the weight throw (18.01 meters) and placed second in the shot put (14.86 meters) to open the indoor season at the Blue and Gold Invitational

AS A FRESHMAN:

• Hit a PR at the ACC Indoor Championships with a shot put throw of 15.81 meters
• Led the team in the weight throw with a distance of 18.01 meters, set at the Blue & Gold Invitational
• Had her best hammer throw performance of the season at the Louisville Invite with a distance of 48.84 meters

PREP AND PERSONAL:

• Graduated from Munster High School in May 2016
• Received one varsity letter in basketball and four in track and field
• Led her team to four section championships and four conference championships
• Named all-conference in the shot put all four years and was all-conference in the discus her sophomore through senior years
• Was sectional champion in the shot put and discus her last three seasons
• Was throws MVP sophomore, junior and senior year
• Was state runner-up as a junior and senior
• Named team captain her senior year
• Daughter of James and Deborah Kapitan
• Has two brothers, John and Daniel
• Intends to major in biological sciences
