Rolston Earns B1G Second Star Of The Week Honors

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Sophomore forward Ryder Rolston has been selected as Big Ten Hockey’s Second Star of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday morning (Dec. 8).

The Birmingham, Michigan native helped Notre Dame to a weekend split with No. 18 Ohio State by leading the Irish offense with a goal and an assist in each game (Dec. 3-4). In Saturday’s game two, 5-1 victory, Rolston netted his third game winner of the year. It marks his first career weekly Big Ten honor.

On the season, Rolston is Notre Dame’s second-leading scorer with 16 points on six goals and 10 assists in 15 games played. His three game-winning goals lead the team, as do his 10 assists.

Rolston has an active, career-long seven-game point streak (5-6-11). His goal, assist and point totals each represent career-high marks after posting a goal five assists in 28 games last season as a freshman.

Originally a fifth round selection (139th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2020 NHL Draft, Rolston’s rights were traded to Chicago in April (2021).
