Robinson Named To All-ACC Second Team

April 27, 2017

ROME, Ga. – University of Notre Dame women’s tennis senior Monica Robinson was named a member of the All-Atlantic Coast Conference teams this week, earning Second Team honors when the conference announced the selections Thursday.

Robinson has been a standout for the Irish at the No. 1 singles position, assembling a 14-7 dual record – her best since posting a 17-7 dual mark as a freshman. Robinson is 72-45 in singles matches to this point in her career. She picked up three wins over ranked opponents this season, with the highest coming against then-No. 33 Estela Perez-Somarriba of Miami on March 26.

It is the second all-conference honor of Robinson’s career. The Valley Center, California, product was named to the All-ACC Third Team as a sophomore in 2015.

Robinson and the Irish will continue play at the ACC Championship today, taking on Clemson in a second-round matchup slated for 4 p.m. ET at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia. Notre Dame defeated Pittsburgh 4-0 in first-round action Wednesday.
