Robin Bergman Leaves Irish Hockey Team

Notre Dame, Ind. – Notre Dame hockey head coach Jeff Jackson announced today that freshman left wing Robin Bergman (Stockholm, Sweden) has left the Irish hockey team and will return to the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Rough Riders of the United States Hockey League (USHL).

The 6-0, 195-pound Bergman saw action in 20 games for Notre Dame, scoring one goal with six assists for seven points. He was +3 on the year and had one penalty for two minutes.

“Robin (Bergman) has decided to leave the Notre Dame hockey program to return to Cedar Rapids to continue his hockey career,” said Jackson.

“We appreciate his work ethic and contributions to the team during the first half of the season and we wish him well in the future.”

Bergman spent the 2006-07 season in Cedar Rapids with the Rough Riders, scoring 26 goals with 17 assists for 43 points to rank fourth on the team in scoring.
