Rob Kurz Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor

Notre Dame, Ind. – Sophomore forward Rob Kurz (Gwynedd, Pa.) was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following his performance in Sunday’s 84-66 win over Lafayette.

In making his first career start, Kurz posted career bests of 18 points and eight rebounds while playing a career-high 25 minutes for the Irish. He finished 8-10 from the field and was 1-1 from the charity stripe. As a freshman, Kurz played in 14 contests, totaling 66 minutes for an average of 4.7 poins per game. His 18 points against the Leopards marked the second straight game he had reached double figures after concluding the season a year ago with 11 points in a loss to Holy Cross in the first round of the NIT.

Roy Hibbert of Georgetown earned player-of-the week honors. Along with Kurz, Josh Boone of Connecticut, Eric Hicks of Cincinnati, Quincy Douby of Rutgers and Solomon Jones of South Florida were named to the weekly honor roll.
