NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Ruth Riley (Macy, Ind.) has been named for the second consecutive year to the GTE/CoSIDA All-District V Academic Team. The junior center is now eligible for national honors. The GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America national teams will be announced in late March.

Riley, a psychology major, owns a 3.65 cumulative grade point average and has been named to the Dean’s List all five semesters she has been at Notre Dame. She is a member of the Academic Honors Program at the University which pairs student-athletes who excel in the classroom with a faculty mentor. Riley also is a two-time member of the BIG EAST Academic All-Star team.

Riley, a finalist for the 2000 Naismith Award for women which is presented annually to the top collegiate player, is leading the team in both scoring and rebounding for the second straight season, averaging 16.5 points and 7.2 rebounds.
