NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday that senior Nathan Richartz has been named the Men’s Field Performer of the Week following a record-setting performance on Saturday at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at Louisville.

Richartz vaulted 5.51m, setting a Notre Dame program record and a meet record. The mark ranks second-best in the conference and tied for eighth-best in the country this season.

Richartz tied for sixth place with a 5.45m jump at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in March. The three-time All-American won the pole vault at the 2016 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships and finished third overall at the 2017 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The honor marks the second of Richartz’s four-year career. The Island Lake, Illinois, native received conference honors after vaulting 5.50m during the indoor season.

The Irish return to action in split-squad meets at the Virginia Challenge at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 21-22, at Lannigan Field (Charlottesville, Virginia). Richartz and several Notre Dame athletes will compete at the Michael Johnson Invitational at Baylor’s Clyde Hart Track & Field Stadium (Waco, Texas) at 11 a.m. ET on April 22.
