Registration Open For the Irish Softball Hitting Academy

Sept. 25, 2012

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame softball team will offer its annual Irish Softball Hitting Academy starting the week of Oct. 22 and running through Nov. 6.

The hitting academy is designed for players looking to sharpen their offensive skills during the offseason. Notre Dame associate softball coaches Kris Ganeff and Lizzy Lemire, along with selected Fighting Irish players, will teach academy participants through lecture, video analysis and drill work during three two-hour sessions held on consecutive weeks.

Sessions will be offered on Monday nights (Oct. 22, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5) for players in grades three through eight. Interested participants in grades nine through 12 are welcome to sign up for Tuesday night sessions on Oct. 23, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6.

All sessions will run from 7 to 9 p.m. (ET) in the indoor baseball batting cages at Notre Dame’s Frank Eck Stadium, and are limited to 25 players per session. Players are required to bring their own bat and helmet to each scheduled instruction period.

The cost is $200.00 for the entire three-week academy. Payment must be made in full, and there will be no refunds after a spot is reserved due to the limited number available in each session.
