Rebecca Nunge and Charlie Trense Receive Monogram Club Postgraduate Scholarship

Nunge (volleyball) and Trense (lacrosse) earn $5,000 grant for postgraduate study.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Rebecca Nunge (’19, volleyball) and Charlie Trense (’19, lacrosse) have been named the 2019 recipients of the Monogram Club Postgraduate Scholarship. They each will receive a $5,000 grant to use for postgraduate study. The announcement was made during Saturday’s Fourth Quarter Farewell inside Foley’s at O’Neill Hall. Nunge was on hand to accept, while Trense was with his teammates in New York preparing for Notre Dame’s NCAA tournament quarterfinal showdown with Duke

This marked the 11th year the Monogram Club has awarded a postgraduate scholarship to one male and one female graduating student-athlete/support staff member. Nunge is the second Fighting Irish volleyball student-athlete to receive the award, while Trense is the first recipient from the men’s lacrosse program. The Monogram Club Postgraduate Scholarships are awarded in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and potential for success in postgraduate study. Since the scholarship’s inception, the Club has issued $110,000 to 22 recipients, including individuals who have attended medical school, law school or obtained their MBA.
