NOTRE DAME, Ind. —- Todd Rassas (Northfield, Ill.) became just the second Notre Dame men’s lacrosse player to earn All-America honors three times as he was honored by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) as a third team selection on defense in 1998.
Teammate Jimmy Keenan (Floral Park, N.Y.), was selected for honorable mention honors for the third consecutive year in the midfield.
Rassas, who captained the Irish in 1998, was a second-team honoree in 1997 and a third-team selection in 1996. A three-year starter, he played in 50 games during his career, scored two goals and dished off two assists in addition to collecting 194 ground balls.
Rassas joins Mike Iorio (1992-95) as the only other Irish player to garner All-America honors three times.
Keenan, a two-time captain, became a starter for Notre Dame midway through his freshman season. He led the Irish in scoring as a sophomore and senior. This season, he tallied 22 goals and dished off 13 assists. Keenan finished his career with 54 goals and 63 assists (117 points).
Rassas and Keenan helped the Irish to three NCAA tournament appearances and three Great Western Lacrosse League titles from 1995-98.
