The 2006 BIG EAST Softball Championship waited 28 hours to play its first contest and will have to wait even longer to continue its schedule. The No. 5 seed, DePaul, dispatched the No. 4 seed, Syracuse 8-0 in five innings in game one, but play was halted in the bottom of the first in game two between No. 8 St. John’s and No. 1 Louisville.

Action will continue tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow at Ivy Field, as the Red Storm and Cardinals continue their game. No. 2 USF will meet No. 7 Pittsburgh at 3:00 p.m., followed by No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 6 Providence at 5:00 p.m.

The St. John’s – Louisville matchup will be continued in the bottom of the first inning. St. John’s was leading the game 1-0, but the Cardinals will return with runners on first and second with no outs.

Saturday, May 13
All games to be played at Ivy Field
Game Two: No. 8 St. John’s vs. No. 1 Louisville – continued at 1:00 p.m. EDT
Game Three: No. 2 USF vs. No. 7 Pittsburgh – 3:00 p.m. EDT
Game Four: No. 3 Notre Dame vs. No. 6 Providence – 5:00 p.m. EDT

Sunday, May 14
Game Five: Winner Game One vs. Winner Game Two – 11:00 a.m. EDT
Game Six: Winner Game Three vs. Winner Game Four – 1:00 p.m. EDT
Championship Game: Winner Game Five vs. Winner Game Six – 3:00 p.m. EDT
