NOTRE DAME, Ind. — For the third time this season, University of Notre Dame junior thrower Rachel Tanczos has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Field Performer of the Week. Tanczos has reset her own program record in the weight throw three times this season, most recently at the Music City Challenge.
Tanczos’ throw of 22.70m broke her own school record that she set earlier this season at the Power Five Invitational. The mark currently sits tied for the second-best weight throw in the country for the 2020 season and the longest recorded distance in the ACC.
The Irish will host the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Loftus Sports Center on Notre Dame’s campus.
