Notre Dame Women’s Basketball
Notre Dame vs. Marquette
February 23, 2010
Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center – Notre Dame, Ind.

Head Coach Muffet McGraw

On the return of Lindsay Schrader
“Wow. She was only allowed to play twenty minutes tonight and we squeezed every second out of her. We tried to put her back in with about three minutes to go, and she informed me that she was done for the day. But she had a fantastic game.”

On the problems the team is facing on the court…
“The problem we’ve had in the last couple of games is that we’ve been getting out rebounded. And tonight we got out rebounded again. Our posts are just not doing a good job on the boards. I think Schrader will fix that when she gets back. If she could have played the whole game she probably would have had 12 rebounds. Devereaux [Peters] did a nice job on the boards. You know, we need more from the guards and defensively. We need to play better. I think we got our pace back tonight.”

On tonight’s game…
“I think it all started with Skylar [Diggins]. She penetrated, three people would collapse on her, she was the first one to let me hit that three point shot in the beginning. And you know that after you hit that first shot the next one gets a little easier, the basket gets a little bigger. So all the credit to Skylar and everyone else for finding me when I was open.”

On scoring her career high on Senior Night…
“It was really great, really exciting. It’s always great when your shots are falling. Senior Night is a really emotional night, and you never know how it’s going to turn out. Right off the get go I came out and had a turnover so that was too great, but it was just fun. We just wanted to have a fun time, the five of us as a class. We just wanted to have a fun time.”

Lindsay Schrader – Sr. – F

On being back…
“It feels great. I didn’t feel my ankle at all. It wasn’t a worry. At practice yesterday the pain didn’t affect me. It was just the fact that I was scared to roll it again, I was scared of stepping on somebody’s foot, but the minute I got onto the court I didn’t even think about it. Our trainer worked wonders on my ankle. We did three treatments a day trying to get ready for this game and it’s great. “

On considering missing Senior Night…
“I would never even consider missing this.”
