Program-Record Seven Irish Earn ACC All-Academic Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – As announced by the ACC on Thursday, the Irish men’s soccer team placed seven student-athletes on the ACC All-Academic Team.

Notre Dame’s seven honorees are the most in program history. The Irish have had at least four players earn the accolade in each season competing in the ACC, spanning back to the 2013 campaign.

Paddy Burns, Bryan Dowd, Ben Giacobello, Dawson McCartney, Mohamed Omar, Philip Quinton and Matthew Roou each received the recognition. Omar and Quinton have now earned the distinction twice in their careers.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
