CULVER, Ind. – After a two-day leadership seminar on campus, the Notre Dame football team jumped into training camp mode on Thursday with a series of orientation-style meetings and a bus ride south to Culver Academies, the team’s home away from home for the NCAA’s acclimation period.

After head coach Brian Kelly and selected student-athletes met with the media in the morning, the team had an annual compliance meeting followed by briefs from several key support staff members. A talk from coach Kelly and meetings led into dinner followed by a bus trip down US-31.

The Irish enjoyed a successful beginning to their 2014 preseason camp at Culver Academies and anticipates similar results on the famed school’s pristine grounds and impressive facilities.

Practice begins on Friday morning Per NCAA guidelines, the first two days must be devoid of pads while the third and fourth days can only be in shoulder pads. On the fifth day, the NCAA permits teams to have their first fully-padded practice.
