NOTRE DAME, Ind. –

Thousands of freshmen and their families descended on South Bend Friday as the Class of 2019 moved into dormitories. Their road has just begun. Conversely, the first stage of the 2015 Notre Dame football season, preseason camp, came to an end on Friday with a two-hour practice session inside Notre Dame Stadium which featured extensive scrimmaging.

Head coach Brian Kelly met with the media after the practice and praised his team’s performance in camp. The Irish came out of the intense two-weeks with relatively few injuries and an ample amount of competition for playing roles. Most notably, Kelly said that the tight end depth is such that the team may use three tight end sets in 2015.

The team has Saturday off and then settles into a standard game-week routine on Sunday ahead of the first week of classes. The highly-anticipated home opener against Texas lies just two weeks away.
