• Today was the 19th meeting all-time between Notre Dame and Maryland. The Fighting Irish lead the series 10-9. Including today, the last three encounters between the Irish and Terrapins have occurred at the BB&T Classic. The Irish are 2-1 in those meetings.
• This was Notre Dame’s third appearance in the BB&T Classic. The Irish are 3-1 in the event. Notre Dame went 2-0 at the 2002 BB&T Classic and 1-0 at the 2006 classic.
• Notre Dame is 7-4 at the Verizon Center under head coach Mike Brey.
• The Irish are 59-14 in December under head coach Mike Brey.
• Scott Martin (Sr./G), Joey Brooks (Jr./G), Tom Knight (Jr./F), Eric Atkins (So./G) and Jerian Grant (So./G) started today’s contest. It was the first career start for Knight. Notre Dame has used six different starting lineups in the first nine games this season. Martin and Grant are the only two Irish players to start every game this season.
• Junior forward Tom Knight became the sixth Notre Dame player to record his first career start this season. Joey Brooks (Jr./G), Jack Cooley (Jr./F), Jerian Grant (So./G), Alex Dragicevich (So./G) and Pat Connaughton (Fr./G-F) are the other first-time starters for the Irish this season.
• An Eric Atkins three-pointer early in the first half upped Notre Dame’s streak of consecutive games with a made three-pointer to 417.
• Notre Dame committed a season-low seven turnovers … the previous low was eight against Georgia (Nov. 22)

• Matched a career-high total with three made three-pointers
• Played a career-high – and game-high – 40 minutes

Mike Broghammer (Jr./F)

• Hauled down a career-high – and team-best – seven rebounds – his previous high was five against Delaware State earlier this season (Nov. 18) – it was the first time he has led the Irish in rebounds during his career
• Blocked a career-high two shots

Alex Dragicevich (So./G)

• Blocked a career-high two shots

Jerian Grant (So./G)

• Matched a career-high total with 20 points – also scored 20 against Georgia on Nov. 22 … has scored in double-figures a team-best eight times this season (out of nine games)
• Has led Notre Dame in scoring in three of the past four games

Tom Knight (Jr./F)

• Recorded his first career start
