NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Notre Dame women’s lacrosse freshmen Stephanie Peragallo and Stephanie Toy have been named to Lacrosse Magazine’s Freshman 15, the magazine announced recently.

Peragallo lettered five times each in lacrosse, soccer and basketball throughout her high school career at Hauppauge High School. The Hauppauge, N.Y., native was twice named to the Champion All-American Showcase and was named to both the Under Armour Underclassman Lacrosse Team as a junior and the Under Armour Senior All-American Team. She scooped up 50 ground balls for Hauppauge during her final campaign.

Lacrosse Magazine had this to say about Peragallo:

“Stephanie Peragallo

Defense, Notre Dame

The Ultra-athletic five-year, three-sport varsity star scooped 50 ground balls for Hauppauge and played in Champion All-American Showcase. The Irish will be without services of senior captain defender Jordy Shoemaker.”

Toy, a Moorestown, N.J., native, earned 12 varsity letters and was a four-year starter in both lacrosse and basketball. As a senior she was the New Jersey State Player of the Year and was named to the Under Armour Senior All-America Team and the Champion All-American Showcase. She scored 87 goals, dished out 61 assists and collected 52 ground balls in her final year with Moorestown High School.

Do-it-all midfielder registered 87 goals, 61 assists and 52 ground balls for Moorestown (N.J.), the nation’s second-ranked high school. Played in Champion All-American Showcase. Leading scorer Maggie Tamasitis graduated, as did two starters at midfield.”

The Irish open up their fall schedule this Saturday as they welcome to Arlotta Stadium BIG EAST foe Marquette, who is entering its first season of competition. The Golden Eagles are led by former Irish standout Meredith Simon Black and assisted by former Notre Dame All-American Jackie Doherty. The exhibition contest is set to begin at 11 a.m. (ET) on Saturday at Arlotta Stadium and is open to the public.
