O’Leary Signs With Hartford

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) general manager Chris Drury announced the signing of Notre Dame senior forward Mike O’Leary to an AHL contract.

O’Leary finished his Irish career with 20 goals and 37 assists for 57 points in 151 games played. He was a part of Notre Dame’s Frozen Four appearances in 2017 and 2018 adn was a key contributor as Notre Dame made a run to the national title game in 2018. 

O’Leary was also part of three Big Ten Championships, including back-to-back tournament titles in 2018 and 2019. He collected four points in the 2019 Big Ten Tournament, including the game-winning goal in Game One of the Big Ten quarterfinals versus Michigan State. 

As a senior, O’Leary posted a career-high 23 points on nine goals and 14 assists. He was named the HCA Player of the Month for October after sharing the national lead in points per game (2.75) and assists per game (1.75) with linemate Cal Burke. O’Leary tallied multiple points in all four of Notre Dame’s games in October to finish the month with four goals, seven assists and 11 points, while notching a point on the game-winning goal in three out of four contests.

O’Leary is on pace to graduate in May with a Management Consulting degree from the Mendoza College of Business. He will be joining former Fighting Irish forward Steven Fogarty, who currently plays with the Hartford Wolf Pack.
