October 21st Hockey Game Versus Rensselaer To Be Played In Compton Family Ice Arena

Oct. 2, 2011

Notre Dame, Ind. – The Notre Dame hockey team will make its first-ever appearance in the new Compton Family Ice Arena on Friday, Oct. 21 when the Irish play host to the Rensselaer (RPI) Engineers in a 7:35 p.m. contest. The site for the game has been listed as TBA since the schedule was announced in June due to the extremely aggressive construction schedule necessary to have the building ready for use by mid-October.

The Notre Dame hockey team will move into the new building on Tuesday, Oct. 18 – the original projected date of substantial completion – with the first game to be played three nights later.

Ticketing for the event will be handled as follows:

• The game will be ticketed as a general admission event and seating will not be assigned. All patrons currently with a ticket to the game will gain admittance to the Rensselaer contest with those tickets.

• Season ticket holders who currently have tickets to the game will receive a card in the mail that will allow them early admittance to locate and sit in their Compton Family Ice Arena season-ticket locations.

• For those that purchased season tickets that did not include games scheduled in the Joyce Center, there will be a presale on Tuesday, Oct. 4, starting at 11:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Murnane Family Ticket Office or by calling 574-631-7356.

• Tickets will go on sale to the public on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murnane Ticket Office, by calling 574-631-7356, or by visiting und.com/tickets. Service fees may apply.

The Irish will play their final games at the Joyce Center the weekend of Oct. 14-15 when they play host to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the CCHA openers for both teams. Game time at the Joyce Center on both nights is 7:05 p.m.
