O'Brien Wins Heptathlon At Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Freshman Jadin O’Brien won the heptathlon at the Gibson Invitational by posting a score of 5,505 points, which ranks third in program history. O’Brien was competing in her first collegiate heptathlon.

After a strong performance on Thursday saw O’Brien win the first four events, the freshman closed out day two in strong fashion winning the long jump (5.89m) and 800m (2:15.69) to finish with wins in six of the seven events.

O’Brien’s performance moves the freshman into 14th place in the country for the heptathlon.

Men’s pole vaulter Colton Crum and Nolan Blachowski will close out the weekend for the track and field team by competing in the pole vault on Saturday at the Gibson Invitational.
