NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The final trip on the fall lacrosse experience is a networking event in the Big Apple for the program’s juniors and sophomores. The trip provides opportunities for the guys on the team to build relationships with some of the top firms and companies in various industries.

The student-athletes will look to continue expanding their connections with the ninth annual New York City Networking Trip on Oct. 19. Exclusively for the junior and sophomore class, the trip offers a full day of networking with firms and Notre Dame alumni that work in fields such as finance, media and commercial real estate. The trip is designed to give each player an opportunity to land an internship at one of the top companies or firms in his desired field.

“The great part about this day, beyond the exposure our guys get to different jobs and industries, is the connections they make with the alumni and the reconnections our alumni make with each other,” said Baumer Family Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Kevin Coach.

The day will start in the business world, as the team will visit Morgan Stanley for an emphasis on financial services and then will shift its focus to the real estate world with a stop at Jones Lang LaSalle. The players will attend two-hour sessions where they will be given invaluable insight in each industry. Notre Dame alums in each company will provide a relaxed atmosphere where players can ask questions about each sector.

After the team makes stops at the two locations the student-athletes will have the opportunity to job shadow with Notre Dame alums in various industries. Some of the copanies include The Riverside Company, Citigroup, NY Yankees, Credit Suisee, Keefe, Bruyette and Woods, KORE Software and Rialto Mortgage Finance.

The busy day will conclude with a reception downtown at the Harvard Club for a networking event that will be attended by many of our area alums. This will provide the players with an opportunity to interact with people from a variety of industries in an informal atmosphere. Players are again encouraged to ask questions and learn about what the alums do and how they might be able to guide them through the process of getting an internship.

The Notre Dame men’s lacrosse staff dedicates time each fall to organizing two premier trips for the season. The New York Networking event has developed into a staple for the program. The program has also taken trips to Washington, D.C.; Denver, Colorado; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Francisco, California and Seattle, Washington.
