Notre Dame Wraps Homestand Versus Kent State

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame baseball team concludes its six-game homestand with a two-game midweek series versus Kent State (11-8) at Frank Eck Stadium.

The Irish (10-12) will turn to senior right-hander Charlie Vorsheck, who is returning from injury in his first start since the 2017 season. Notre Dame southpaw Cameron Brown will get the nod on Wednesday.

Series History: Kent State

Notre Dame leads the all-time series, 9-7, including owning a 7-3 mark at Frank Eck Stadium.

The Irish have won the last three games versus the Golden Flashes. Most recently, Notre Dame defeated Kent State, 8-1, in Gary, Indiana.

Series Notes

  • Matt Vierling is in control of a nine-game hitting streak, batting .333 (12-36) with 11 RBI over that span.
  • Notre Dame is 2-2 at Frank Eck Stadium and 6-7 against non-conference opponents in 2018.
