NOTRE DAME, Ind. – A day after placing sixth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships at the Zimmer Championships Cross Country Course, the University of Notre Dame’s 29th-ranked women’s cross country team earned an at-large selection to next week’s NCAA Championships.

The Irish have turned in strong team performances in their previous two races, placing fifth in a talent-laden Atlantic Coast Conference Championship field, and becoming one of six teams to qualify for the national race from the Great Lakes Region. Juniors Molly Seidel and Danielle Aragon have each won All-ACC (top 21) and All-Region (top 25) honors in the past month.

Junior Michael Clevenger will represent the Irish men as an at-large individual qualifier.

The 2014 NCAA Championships will take place next Saturday at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. The women’s race will begin at noon (ET), followed by the men’s race at 1 p.m. The championships will be webcast on NCAA.com.
