Jay Louderback pointed Notre Dame to new heights in the 1990s and beyond, with his team becoming the first (and still only) northern-based women's tennis program ever to reach the NCAA semifinal round (in both 2009 and '10).

Notre Dame Women's Tennis Qualifies For National Team Indoors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team will take part in the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Team Indoor Championships taking place Feb. 1-4 at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisc. The 16-team field for the nation’s premier national indoor tournament was announced today by the ITA with the Irish earning a bid for the first time since 2002.

Five teams on Notre Dame’s 2007 dual-match schedule are in the field: BYU, North Carolina, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin. Also making the tournament is Baylor, Cal, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Miami, Pepperdine, Stanford, TCU, UCLA and VCU.

Notre Dame participated in the tournament nine consecutive years from 1994-2002, finishing tied for fifth in 1994 and 2001, and have an overall record of 12-15. See year-by-year results below:
