Notre Dame Women's Swimming And Diving Has A Pair Among The Top 16 On Day Two At NCAA Zone Diving Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich.- Notre Dame’s Tiffany Robak (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) finished 12th and Natalie Stitt (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) finished 16th in the one-meter springboard on the second day of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Saturday, March 3 in Ann Arbor, Mich. at the Canham Natatorium. The duo will return to the pool tomorrow for the ten-meter platform diving preliminaries and finals. The Zone meet determines who qualifies for the 2007 NCAA Championships.

Robak finished 12th with 239.90 points in the preliminaries and 251.05 points in the finals for a total of 490.95 points. Stitt tallied 229.60 points in the preliminaries and 238.95 points in the finals for 468.55 total points and an 16th place finish.

Indiana’s Christina Louka won the one-meter diving with 652.10 points. There are four additional zone diving competitions this weekend from which the top-35 men and 41 women nationally will advance to the NCAA Championships being held from March 8-10 in Minneapolis, Minn.. The Zone C competition encompasses approximately 84 divers and 17 schools in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Divers will qualify for the NCAA Championships based on their finish at the zone meet. It is a head-to-head competition from which the top-nine women across the three combined events from Zone C will advance. Sunday events will include the ten-meter platform diving preliminaries and finals.
