DaVaris Daniels
- DaVaris Daniels scored his first career touchdown reception (32 yards) from Tommy Rees on first passing play on opening drive for Notre Dame to give the Irish the early 7-0 lead.
- Daniels added a second score on the second drive for the Irish, also a 32-yard TD reception, for his first game with multiple touchdown catches.
- Senior captain TJ Jones notched his first career 100-yard receiving game. His 138 receiving yards in the game is a career high for a single contest.
- Jones recorded a 51-yard reception on the second drive for Notre Dame, which was his longest reception since his freshman season when he had a 55-yard TD reception against Michigan.
- Junior tight end Troy Niklas had his longest career reception at the end of the second half with a 66-yard touchdown catch. His previous long was 30 yards against Purdue in 2012. It was his second career touchdown.
- Junior Stephon Tuitt recorded his 15th career sack in the second quarter, which moved him into 10th on the all-time Notre Dame sack list (sacks became a recorded statistic in 1982).
- Sophomore Chris Brown had three catches in the game for a career high in receptions in a single contest. He had two catches all of last season. His 57 yards receiving was one more yard than his previous career total of 56 yards.
- Dan Fox collected 10 tackles against Temple, which is a career high for Fox and his first game with double-digit tackles.
- Junior Cam McDaniel totaled 65 yards on 12 carries, both of which are new career-highs for the running back.
- Carlo Calabrese recovered a fumble on a punt late in the fourth quarter for the first fumble recovery of his career.
- Freshman Tarean Folston caught the first pass of his Irish career late in the fourth quarter for a first down.
- Freshman Max Redfield recorded his first career tackle on the first Irish kickoff.
- Junior Kyle Brindza’s first career punt went 47 yards. He finished with five punts for a 41.2-yard average. Brindza is also is the kickoff specialist for Notre Dame.
- Freshman linebacker Jaylon Smith became the first true-freshman linebacker to start the first game of the season for Notre Dame since 1995 (Kory Minor).
- Junior running back Amir Carlisle’s first career carry for Notre Dame went for 37 yards to open the game for the Irish. Carlisle had nine carries for 68 yards in the game for a 9.7-yard per carry average.
