NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The No. 25-ranked Notre Dame baseball team suffered just its second rainout of the season today, as the 5:00 p.m. game versus Valparaiso was canceled due to the weather.

The Irish will make up the game in their 55-game regular-season schedule by playing host to Central Michigan on Thursday, April 22, at 6:00 p.m. That game will be carried live by WHME radio (103.1 FM), with the broadcast available through the Notre Dame website (www.und.com).

Notre Dame and Valparaiso could still play later in the season, depending on any further rainouts.

Notre Dame is set to return to action this weekend, with a BIG EAST Conference three-game series versus Boston College on April 17 (noon doubleheader) and April 18 (single game at noon). Per BIG EAST rules, the Irish and Eagles would play on Monday, April 20, if any games are rained out during the weekend.

The next Irish mid-week game is a Tuesday, April 21, matchup versus Michigan at Old Kent Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.one of only two games that the Irish will play away from home during the month of April.

The only previous rainout for the Irish this season came on March 21 at West Virginia.
