Notre Dame Travels To Ohio For The SPIRE Invitational This Weekend

Feb. 13, 2014

GENEVA, Ohio — Following an exciting Meyo Invitational that saw several impressive Irish performances, the Notre Dame men’s and women’s track and field teams will travel to Geneva, Ohio for the SPIRE Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Notre Dame will face competition from Penn State, Michigan and Michigan State. Only 20 women and 16 men will be traveling to the event, as many need the time to rest in preparation for the Alex Wilson Invitational next weekend at home and then the ACC Indoor Championships in two weeks.

The event will kick off Friday afternoon and continue through the day on Saturday.

On the other side of the country, graduate student Nick Happe will be traveling to the University of Washington to compete in the Husky Invite. Head coach Joe Piane says that the meet will be an excellent opportunity for him to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Results from all of Notre Dame’s activities this weekend can be found here at UND.com.
