Notre Dame Travels to #19 Duke

NOTRE DAME, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame baseball team hits the road for a three-game set at No. 19 Duke over Easter weekend. The Irish (11-13, 4-5) and the Blue Devils (21-5, 6-3) will open the weekend series with a 6 p.m. ET first pitch on Friday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Series History: Duke

Notre Dame trails the all-time series, 6-9, and owns a 4-6 record at Duke. In the teams’ last matchup, the Irish topped the Blue Devils, 3-2, taking the three-game series at Frank Eck Stadium from April 28-29, 2017.

Notre Dame will play its first series in Durham, N.C., since March 14-15, 2014, when the Irish were swept in a three-game series.

Heating Up: Matt Vierling

Irish outfielder Matt Vierling has hit safely in 15 of 17 games in the month of March, batting .323 (21-65) with one double, one triple, three homers and 16 RBI during that span. Vierling owns six multi-hit games in March.
