Notre Dame To Host Fifth Annual Tackle The Arts On Friday, July 21

Notre Dame, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame football team will play host to the fifth annual “Tackle The Arts,” program on Friday, July 21 at the Stepan Center on the Notre Dame campus from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The “Tackle the Arts” program invites inner-city kids from the Michiana area from kindergarten through eighth grade to the Notre Dame campus for the opportunity to interact with members of the Notre Dame football team while learning more about the arts. Various art appreciation sessions covering drawing and painting, creative writing and poetry, musical instruments, reading, singing, poetry and photography will be available throughout the evening.

The kids and players attending the event will be treated to games and a picnic following the art appreciation sessions.

Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn serves as the chairman of Tackle the Arts while sophomore quarterback Evan Sharpley is the co-chairman. The community service event is sponsored by Hammes Notre Dame Book Store, the Notre Dame athletic department and the Notre Dame Club of St. Joseph Valley.
