NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s rowing program will host two indoor training clinics, with the first scheduled for Aug. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (ET), and the second to follow on Nov. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic sessions will be held inside the Women’s Rowing Indoor Facility, formerly the Walter Langford Fencing Gymnasium, in the North Dome of the Joyce Center.

Run by the Notre Dame rowing coaching staff, the clinic will address components of successful and productive indoor training. One segment will include proper warm-up techniques to help prevent injury and allow for an effective training session. The second segment will be specific to the ergometer.

A third segment will discuss aspects of proper recovery: nutrition, sleep and movement. The fourth segment will discuss core, mobility and strength training.

Other topics covered will include the proper set up for individual goals, types of training sessions, ways to determine training numbers and finding a proper fitness balance. Also discussed will be how an individual’s needs vary, and creating a training plan that focuses on individual needs and growth. The clinic will finish with a question and answer segment.

The cost of the clinic is $75 per person, and is open to both females and males ages 14-18. Both clinic sessions will cover the same material.
