Notre Dame, Ind. – The National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) has ranked Notre Dame fifth among Division I universities in its Top 25 Power Ranking for 2005.

The mission of the NSCA study is to provide data that will assist prospective student-athletes assess the particular strengths of Division I, II and III level institutions. Rankings are based off the average of a school’s end of the year standings in the U.S. News & World Report, U.S. Sports Academy Director’s Cup (NACDA) and student-athlete graduation rate.

Notre Dame finished with 67 points. Duke was ranked first among Division I institutions with 26 points, followed by Stanford with 13. Princeton (45 points), Harvard (46 points) and Notre Dame rounded out the Top 5.

Notre Dame ranked 18th in the U.S. News & World Report, 16th in the final Division I NACDA rankings, and ninth in Division I student-athlete graduation rates.
