Notre Dame Ranked As One Of The Top 10 Tennis Colleges For Men And Women By Smash Magazine

May 14, 2006

Smash – a cutting-edge tennis lifestyle magazine for teens from the publishers of Tennis Magazine – named its top 20 tennis colleges for both men and women recently in its debut issue, and the University of Notre Dame appeared in the top 10 on both lists. The rankings are based on colleges’ academic rankings (from U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges) and their average year-end tennis rankings over the last five seasons. Notre Dame – which has both of its teams in the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1994 – was listed ninth on the list of top tennis colleges for men and was in a seventh-place tie in the list of top tennis colleges for women.
