Nov. 5, 2010

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Notre Dame men’s swimming and diving team welcomes in-state rival Purdue to the Rolfs Aquatic Center Saturday for a dual meet slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. (ET).

This will be the sixth straight season in which the two programs will face each other. Purdue has won four of the last five dual meets with Notre Dame’s last win in the series coming by a 156-144 margin on Nov. 3, 2006.

Purdue defeated the Irish, 195-105, in 2009. The Irish were able to collect five victories (four individual and one relay) as Petar Petrovic accounted for two of those individual wins.

This weekend also reunites former teammates Joseph Raycroft and Corey Bandura (both of whom attended Indiana’s Munster High School).

Purdue’s David Boudia, who competed for the United States in the 2008 Summer Olympics, currently holds the 1- and 3-meter diving records at the Rolfs Aquatic Center with scores of 361.65 and 440.48, respectively.

Notre Dame is 2-1 in dual meets in 2010-11.
