SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Notre Dame women’s soccer NCAA Women’s College Cup semifinal match vs. defending champion North Carolina will be televised live Friday at 8:00 p.m. EST in South Bend, on AT&T Broadband channel 3. The public access channel is available locally on AT&T cable.

The top-seeded and undefeated Irish and fifth-seeded Tar Heels will play at 8:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. PST) on Friday at San Jose State’s Spartan Stadium for a spot in the 2000 NCAA Women’s College Cup championship game, which will be televised live nationally on ESPN2 at 3:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, Dec. 3. The semifinal will be a rematch of the 1999 final, won by North Carolina 2-0. Portland and UCLA will play in the second semifinal Friday night.

A live internet broadcast also may be accessed via the Notre Dame website (www.und.com) while the official NCAA women’s soccer website (www.ncaasoccer.net)will provide a live statistical gamecast (this site also includes previews and features stories about the Championship).

Both semifinals will be shown by ESPN2 on a delayed basis, beginning at 3:00 p.m. EST.

ESPN’s broadcast crew for the Women’s College Cup includes play-by-play announcer Beth Mowins (who also called ND’s 1-0 win over UConn in the 2000 BIG EAST title game), U.S. national team midfielder and former Stanford All-American Julie Foudy on color commentary, and Heather Cox as sideline reporter.
