Notre Dame’s baseball game versus the host team University of Minnesota on Saturday, March 4, will be broadcast live by Midwest Sports Channel, with a start time of 1:30 p.m. CST. Fans can check local listings for additional affiliate stations that may be broadcasting the game, either live or tape-delayed.

The Notre Dame radio broadcasts (on WJVA 1580 AM, and available via the internet at www.und.com) at the three-day Hormel Foods Classic (at the HHH Metrodome) will include three special color commentators, who will split duties during the tournament. The color commentators will include: former Notre Dame All-American and Academic All-American Dan Peltier (’87-’89), who currently resides in the Minneapolis area, Mike Kelly, current Minnesota Vikings executive vice president of business operations who received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Notre Dame, and Chuck Lennon, the executive director of the Notre Dame Alumni Association and a former catcher with the Irish baseball program.

Dave Schultz will handle the radio play-by-play duties at the Hormel Foods Classic. Schultz has extensive radio experience in minor-league baseball and recently settled in the Minneapolis area. WJVA’s Jeremy Gray will call the first five Irish games at next week’s Kennel Club Classic and will join the Irish baseball broadcasts on a full-time basis following the conclusion of the Notre Dame women’s basketball season.
